UNDER 13 THRU UNDER 18 RECREATIONAL SOCCER

What is Recreational Soccer?
The Birmingham United Recreational Soccer Program is for players in the Under 9 thru Under 18 age groups.  Training for our recreational teams is community based (North/South).  Competition is scheduled through the Central Alabama Soccer League (CASL) and BUSA teams compete against teams from the Birmingham Metro area.  All teams typically play 8 games per season with 4 games on our home fields and 4 away games.  Schedules are typically set to minimize travel for the recreational teams.  All recreational teams are coached by volunteer coaches with the support of our Coaching Staff.  U9 & U10 play 6v6, U11 & U12 play 8v8 and U13 and up play 11v11.

Who can participate?
Girls and boys with birthdays that fall within the specified time periods are eligible to play Recreational Soccer – Under 13 and up. To check on your child’s eligibility to play click here to see the Age Group Chart.

We offer two locations for team practices. The North (Mtn. Brook Soccer Club) could train at Rathmell Park, Mtn. Brook High School, or Brookwood Forest. In the South (American Soccer Club) could train at Sports Blast Fields or Heardmont Park.

How can I help and get involved with Recreational Soccer?
Volunteer coaches are vital to the success of our Recreational Program as we cannot form teams without a coach.   You are able to register as a Coach or an Assistant Coach, when you register your child online. The organization will provide volunteers with all the resources needed as a coach along with coaching education clinics for you to attend.

As a Volunteer Coach with Birmingham United, duties include but not limited to conducting practices, attend games and communicating with parents.
