Minnesota Thunder and Shattuck-St. Marys to Join US Soccer Development Academy for 2010-11 Season

After an extensive review process, the Minnesota Thunder Academy and Shattuck-St. Mary’s Soccer Academy have been selected to join the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. The two Minnesota clubs will join the Academy at the conclusion of the current season and begin competing on the field during the 2010-11 season.

Galaxy Integrates Development Academy Teams into Professional Club Environment

Walking out of a first-class locker room, through the tunnel, up the ramp and onto a perfectly manicured pitch in a 27,000-seat stadium is a dream come true for most youth soccer players – or any young athlete for that matter. For the Los Angeles Galaxy and Pateadores Development Academy teams, that dream became a reality on Jan. 31, as both the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups played matches in The Home Depot Center stadium in front of 500 fans.

Coaching Symposium at The Home Depot Center Brings Together Development Academy Coaches

Keeping in line with recent January tradition, the U.S. Men’s National Team rounded out a three-week training camp at U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center with a match against Honduras on Jan. 23 at The Home Depot Center. During the training camp, head coach Bob Bradley led 30 players through the rigors of the international level, and last week, he opened a training session to 26 Development Academy coaches from across the West Conference.

Fradenburg Named Development Academy Performer of the Week

Fradenburg led his team to a 5-0 victory over visiting Miami FC Kendall on Saturday, scoring four goals on the day. Fradenburg now has 10 goals in 12 games this season and is listed among the top ten goal scorers in the Academy Program among active teams. Birmingham United(BUSA)is currently tied for 1st place in the Southeast division of the South Conference with a 6-1-3 record.
