BUSA's Frierson The Lone High School Age Player Called Into The U23 WNT Camp

U23 US Women's National Team News:

U.S. U-23 head coach Bill Irwin, who is also the Director of Soccer and head men’s soccer coach at UP, has brought 24 players to the camp, including three who have earned caps with the U.S. Women’s National Team (Yael Averbuch, Tina DiMartino and Becky Sauerbrunn) and seven who have represented the USA at a FIFA youth world championship. Twenty-three of the players are in college or have finished their eligibility with the lone high-school aged call-up being Katy Frierson from Homewood, Ala. Frierson is also a member of the USA’s U-20 WNT Player pool.

Wednesday, March 26 – Friday, April 4, 2008 the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls 1990 Region III are in the United Kingdom for games and training sessions as a way to expand their soccer horizons.

Wolfe of Hazel Green traveled to Catalonia, Spain with the Region III
'91 ODP team for a series of games in mid-March. They played warm-up
friendlies against four top teams; winning three of four games with the
only loss being 2-1 to the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona professional team.

Katy Frierson heads to Spain with the U18 WNT

photo U.S. U-18 WNT ENDS CAMP AT HDC, PREPARES FOR GAMES IN SPAIN:

The newly re-instated U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team swept matches against three Southern California college teams last week and will now focus on its first international competition of the year, traveling to La Manga, Spain, from March 7-16, where the U.S. U-23s played last month. In a get-together that features U-19 Women’s National Teams from Denmark, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Norway, the U.S. U-18s will play three matches against teams preparing for qualifying matches for the European U-19 Women’s Championships. The USA will face Sweden’s U-19s on March 10, take on Norway’s U-19s on March 12 and finish with an always talented France U-19 side on March 14.
