Jim Jeter, a long time volunteer for Birmingham United Soccer Association and the American Soccer Club, has been hired as BUSA’s Recreational Commissioner.
Jim will manage and supervise BUSA’s Sunday Soccer, Intramural and Recreational soccer programs for the North (Mt Brook Soccer Club) and South (American Soccer Club). Jay Howell, BUSA Executive Director and Director of Coaching, stated "The best soccer staff in Alabama just got better. Jim will strengthen BUSA’s commitment to providing the best recreation soccer experience and program in the state."
BUSA’s Recreational Soccer Program includes Sunday Soccer for our Under 4s and 5s, Intramural for our U6 thru U8 players, and Recreational league play for our U9 through U18 players.
Jim has been involved with club soccer for over 10 years and has served in many capacities. Jim served on the American Soccer Club board and has served on the BUSA board since 2007. He has served as a Recreation Age Group Coordinator for several years, as well as the Director of the Birmingham Bash and BUSA’s 3 v 3 Tournament.
Jim holds an USYSA E coaching license as well as the youth modules 1 and 2. Over the past 10 years, Jim has coached several Recreation soccer teams from ages 5 to 12. Jim served on the original committee that formed the CASL Recreational Soccer League.
Jim will continue on in his role as BUSA Facility Manager.
Jim has 3 children, two of whom play for BUSA’s Competitive teams. @Jim officially joins the BUSA Staff as of October 1, 2010.
