Clarification on "Fall and Spring Commitment" - Can I Play High School Soccer? Yes!
The "fall and spring" commitment referred to in the tryout forms does not mean you are required to miss High School Soccer to play for Birmingham United. We fully support our high school programs - look at how many BUSA players are represented on teams who made it to the High School final four this year! High School age teams (U15 and up) generally take the spring off to enable those players who wish to participate in High School Soccer to do so, with the teams reforming for training when the season is complete. For those who can't or don't want to play High School, we also offer a Spring Program.

There are three levels of competition based on at which level the Directors feel the team can compete. In some instances, such as the Elite level, a team may not be participating in Region III Premier League but could be designated at the Elite level due to the makeup of the team after tryouts. The competitive levels of development are as follows:
|
|
| Within each age group and competitive level if more than one team exists they will be designated as follows: | |
| Blue: 1st team | |
| Red: 2nd team | |
| White: 3rd team | |
It is the goal of the Birmingham United Competitive Program to provide an appropriate level of development for each player that is willing to make the commitment to be involved in competitive soccer.
