Spring 2025 Season Registration Will Open December 1 Thru February 2

INTRODUCING

THE LEGION FC EXPERIENCE

Birmingham United Soccer Association and Legion FC have entered into a partnership agreement.

As part of the Legion FC Experience, All registered recreational players will receive the following:

  • 2 Season Tickets to the Legion FC home games.
  • Field access at Protective Stadium before and/or after Legion FC games on dates selected by Legion FC;
  • Attendance at the Legion FC clinic at Protective Stadium with Legion FC coaches and players;
  • A ten percent (10%) discount on Legion FC merchandise

For a family with more than one recreational players, the family will receive Four (4) Season Tickets to the Legion FC home games.

In Addition:  All registrants may add Two (2) additional season tickets, and a Legion FC Logo T-shirt for $25.

General Information

Spring 2025  AGE CHART

  • Uniform Jersey is provided for all players. (U8 and below Do Not order the Nike Kit)
  • Shorts and socks are not provided. (Navy or Black recommended.)
  • Teams will be formed by August 18 2024.  Players will be contacted after this date.
  • Games are played Saturday mornings, 8:15, 9:45, or 11 am.
  • Coaches are needed for all age groups. (Please indicate at Registration.) 
  • Coaches Meeting (required for all coaches) – Sunday,  February 23, Time – 6:00pm.  Heardmont Park Senior Center, 5458 Cahaba Valley Rd. 

Note: All players will be placed in their appropriate age groups. Playing up in age group will be allowed, and is chosen in the registration process.  Play-downs in age ONLY if approved by the Recreational Director, must email director.

ALL PLAYERS PAY REGISTRATION FEES BASED ON TRUE AGE.  NO REFUNDS OR EXTRA PAYMENTS REQUIRED.

Practices may begin after coaches meeting February 24, 2025

NORTH PRACTICE FIELD SCHEDULE – BWF

SOUTH PRACTICE FIELD SCHEDULES

  • North (Mt. Brook) will practice at Brookwood Forest Elementary.
  • South (North Shelby) teams will practice at Heardmont Park or Dunnavant valley Fields (formerly Sportsblast). 
  • Chelsea-area teams will practice at Forest Park, Mt Laurel, or Dunnavant Valley Fields.

Each age group will practice as follows:

  • U6 – 5:30 on Mondays (SOUTH), 5:30 on Tuesday (NORTH)
  • U7 – 5:30 on Thursdays
  • U8 – 5:30 on Mon and Wed (NORTH),  Tues and Thur (SOUTH)

Games begin on March 15, 2025, and are played on Saturday mornings as follows:

  • North (Mt. Brook) – All ages will play games at Brookwood Forest Elementary,  Highlands, Leeds, or St Francis.
  • South (Chelsea/North Shelby County) – All games played at Heardmont, Dunnavant Valley Fields,  or Forest Park.

Saturday morning games start at 8:15, 9:45, or 11 am.

Advanced Training Program

(Former Junior Academy Program)

The Advanced Training Program is a program designed for Recreational players ages 6-8 who want a soccer practice in addition to those already scheduled with their Recreational teams.

These extra training sessions will be conducted by BUSA Academy Program coaches who are licensed and trained to work with children these ages.

Advanced Training Program is held on Friday nights, at north and south locations.

This program is HIGHLY recommended for all players.

FAQs

What does my child need to bring?

Each Intramural player will need a size 3 soccer ball, water bottle, shin guards, and tennis shoes or soccer cleats.

Are jerseys provided?

Yes! All Intramural players receive a 2-sided, reversible jersey as part of their registration fee.

How often are practices?

U6-U7 players practice once per week.
U8 players practice twice per week.

Where are practices located?

Practice locations are based on the location where you registered.

When are the games?

Games take place on Saturday mornings.

Does every participant receive a trophy?

Yes! All Intramural participants will receive a trophy.
