AFC Continues College Placement

Alabama FC 2022 Recruitment Class

 

Alabama FC continues to lead the region in college placements!

AFC has placed 131 players into college in the last 3 recruitment cycles with 61 of those going into NCAA Division I. This kind of placement is unmatched across the state and region.

The consistent and sustained success is a testament to the hard work of the Alabama FC staff and players. Alabama FC has the best platform to showcase the player’s talents and abilities in leagues like the ECNL, ECRL SCCL, and ASA State league combined with our AFC College Combine, which allows the players plenty of opportunities to have great exposure.

Executive Director Andrew Brower was quoted,“We are so excited to announce the 2022 BUSA/Alabama FC Signing Class.  This class is special to our hearts as they battled and grinded through the COVID years to accomplish their dreams of playing collegiate soccer.  This class embodies all the gifts, traits, and talents we want our players to encompass upon graduation from our programs.   We’re thrilled to see them have success and look forward to watching the next chapter in their playing careers.  It is also amazing to see how blessed our club is with such dedicated coaches, directors, players, and parents who we get to watch achieve amazing things each season, and thus it is no accident Alabama FC/BUSA  is the undisputed leader in college placement in the region for over 20 years, with over 1000 kids to 150 different schools playing college soccer!”

ALABASTER RECREATION SOCCER IS NOW BEING MANAGED BY BUSA

Alabaster partnering with BUSA for city youth soccer program

 

The city of Alabaster has partnered with the Birmingham United Soccer Association to manage the city’s recreational youth soccer program, allowing Alabaster children to take advantage of BUSA’s commitment to excellence and quality player development.

BUSA will manage and facilitate the Alabaster Parks and Recreation Department’s soccer program starting this spring. The recreational soccer program will continue to be held on city fields – including the newly added turf fields at Veterans Park – under BUSA’s management.

“We are grateful for our longstanding and consistent partnerships with the city of Alabaster and Shelby County and believe we will continue to raise the bar for soccer programming in Alabaster and central Shelby County,” said BUSA Executive Director Andrew Brower. “This recreational branch will also connect our growing BUSA Alabaster Competitive Branch and will provide soccer programming for over 550 players each season.”

BUSA has seen tremendous success in managing recreational and competitive soccer programs throughout the metro area for more than 15 years and will greatly enhance the city’s recreational soccer programming.

“We want our children to have the best opportunity for growth and development in the programs they participate in,” said Alabaster Parks and Recreation Director Tim Hamm. “With BUSA having a long and very reputable history in the Birmingham area, we feel this will be a positive partnership and one that enriches our Children’s soccer experience.”

2021 BUSA Annual Serves Day

BUSA Helping Off The Field.

Alabama FC/Birmingham United Soccer Association is one of the largest soccer clubs in the Southeast, but AFC and BUSA care about more than just soccer. This is evident when the players and coaches team up to make a positive impact in the community off the field.

 

BUSA players across the Academy, Competitive, Alabaster, SCCL, ECRL, and ECNL teams participated in the annual AFC/BUSA Serves Day project.

 

Here are some of the charities and projects our team’s participated working with:

 

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama, Restoration Academy, Shelby County Backpack Buddies program, Manna Ministries, and Little Hands Serving Hearts to name a few of the many places our players and families served,

 

Andrew Brower, Executive Director of Alabama FC and Birmingham United Soccer Association said, “As AFC/BUSA move into its fall season, the work this summer has considerably strengthened the foundation of the club.  AFC/BUSA Serves Day is a great reminder that one of the main goals of  AFC and BUSA is to impact those around us so that we can leave our mark on making our community a better place.”

Alabama FC is Taking it to Another Level!

BUSA, Capital City Streaks, and Fusion FC Join Forces Under the Alabama FC Banner to Raise the Level of Soccer in Alabama!

May 5th, 2021,

BUSA, Capital City Streaks, and Fusion FC, announce plans to form a deeper relationship to best serve all players in Alabama.  Starting in May of 2021, and continuing on-going integration for the next 12 months, the three clubs will be working collectively to advance the soccer landscape in Alabama.  All teams in each respective club will be re-branded under the Alabama FC name and plan to all wear the same uniforms by the Fall of 2022.  All club teams will synonymously be registered in one central registration house to allow for more player development opportunities and thus more chances to best serve players in different parts of Alabama.    We plan to add several more clubs in the next year under the Alabama FC banner, and look forward to continuing to empower soccer players in Alabama for the next generation by working together for a common goal.

YMCA of Greater Montgomery Vice President and Capital City Streaks Director, Manny Sanchez was quoted, “We are thrilled to announce that we are bringing the “proven pathway” to the next level to Montgomery.  Alabama FC South will be replacing the Capital City Streaks Club moving forward.  We are definitely taking it to another level becoming part of the Alabama FC Family.  This strategic partnership will allow our players to have unique opportunities to continue to develop and play at the most competitive levels in our country. We share many common values and philosophies that without a doubt will help us better serve our players and families. We can continue not only to develop our players by creating different training and competitive environments, but also by growing the game in Alabama. This is definitely an exciting day for the River Region, our club, players and coaches”.

BUSA Executive Director Andrew Brower was quoted,” It is exciting to see deeper roots being planted within Alabama FC, with the sole intent being able to serve the players in these three clubs more effectively.  The demands of playing in the best leagues in the country require and demand deeper player pools and we are excited to be able to work with the Fusion and Streaks, to continue to raise the standard of excellence by sharing resources and being collective working together.  We have long enjoyed our relationships with the Fusion and Streaks and excited to see us take it to another level starting with this upcoming tryout cycle.”

Alabama FC Central FAQs

1. In next year’s structure with Alabama FC, will the training and game locations be any different?

-Training locations will stay the same. Game locations will take place at Rathmell, Sportsblast, or Larry Simmons

2. Will the Alabama FC Central teams (ECNL, ECRL, SCCL, Competitive,
and Academy) purchase new uniforms in the soccer year 2021?

-No, the kits will stay the same. The club admin will create an orderly and clear process to re-screen match day kits to Alabama FC logos before the fall season. More information in regards to re-screening will be available shortly.

3. What level of play will be provided for Alabama FC Central?.

AFC will provide ECNL and ECRL teams in ages 13-19. AFC will also provide ASA State league first division teams(Premier) and second division teams(Select) in ages 12-19. The program will also provide SCCL teams in select age groups. The club will select placement of ASA teams based on team formation.

AFC Central will play out of Rathmell Soccer Park, AFC Alabaster will play out of Larry Simmons in Alabaster, and AFC Central South will play out of Sportsblast.

AFC will also provide Academy (Ages 9-11) at all locations mentioned above within the Birmingham area.
